Albert Townsend, born c1884 married Mary Elizabeth Portlock born c1881. Early in the 1900s they bought the Elephant and Castle where Albert raised pigs and kept chickens. Towards the end of the 1930s they moved across the road when they bought Castle View Farm. They had three daughters Ethel, Gladys and Dora and a son also called Albert but always known as Son or Sonner.
