Scope and content

The Donkey Derby is organised by the SPAJERS - The Society for The Preservation of Ancient Junketing - and is one of their main fund raising events held annual on Bank Holiday Monday in Sandfords Field. Apart from the Donkey racing there are stalls by many of Bampton's clubs and societies, rides and games. It gives fun to everyone while raising money for the senior citizens of Bampton. Two days later on the Wednesday, our seniors have the opportunity to go to the seaside for the day and at Christmas, they all receive a Christmas card with either £20 or £25 inside. The charity has also helped a few people in great need such as the time when much of Bampton was flooded in 2007.
