George and William Wilkinson were born in Witney in the early C19th . George designed the Town Hall in Bampton and the first brick was laid in 1838. William designed the delightful little church at Lew and the Randolph Hotel in Oxford and he also designed the new National School in Church View in Bampton. An exhibition about the two brothers and their work was put on the Vesey room in 2018 and a really interesting catalogue of the exhibition giving far more information that is written here is on sale in the room
