An article from the July 2012 issue of The Beam. An obituary Hilda Kent. Hilda came to Bampton with a friend, Margaret Howse after WWII where Hilda was in charge of the Land Army girls in Witney. After the war Hilda drove a bus and Margaret was conductor, then Hilda became a very successful driving instructor and Margaret a taxi driver. Hilda produced delightful artistic displays for the Bush Club in the Horsa buildings every Wednesday. At aged 90 Hilda raised money for the Bush Club by doing a parachute jump and immediately wanted to do another one.
