Scope and content

The Baptist church was in the lane almost opposite Lime Tree House. It is now a private dwelling. Lyn Dunsby said:-

"We used to go to Sunday School at the baptist chapel where Emmie Papworth was one of the leading lights. Mary Whit played the organ and our Sunday school teachers were Jenny and Penny Quick and also if my memory is correct Margaret Bishop, Emmie's niece, Rosie Brooks (Pitts) and Shirley Barton also took part. We also had Junior Christian Endeavour on a Wednesday night which was for the youngsters and involved prayers etc but also crafts such as sewing etc. Lots of the children around my age went to the Sunday school there."
