At the end of 1965 the Bampton branch of the Women's Institute produced this album called "Bampton Today 1965" for an inter-branch competition it is probably the best source anywhere of Bampton in any single year. It covers many subjects: - Morris dancing, Mrs Davy, Mrs Bliss, Marjorie Pollard OBE, J F G Coles MBE, J W Horne, Graham Taylor chief clerk Barclays bank Witney, The Grange to be sold by Mr & Mrs Scott, Sydney Tanner, new wave local art, Mrs Brooks with 4 generation photograph, Percy Money shoemaker, Ada Tanner with daughter Vera Elward and granddaughter Janet Newman, the churches, Romanek family, Benedikz family, Sheppard family, Quick family, weddings, marriages & funerals at St Mary's, Mothers Union, visit to Coventry Cathedral, Deanery Missionary service, guild of ringers, Sunday school, Darby & Joan, Bampton fair, football club, badminton club, cricket club, Army Cadet Force, Youth club, weightlifting club, 2267th Bampton-Burford Squadron ATC, British Legion, nature with lovely paintings, Allis Chalmers trailer combine (spelling mistake in album), Rose and Arthur Gerring's farm, a farming year by Frances Henly of Deanery farm, farmers in Bampton and where they farm, how the fields are used.
