Although not a Bampton firm, Witney Blankets employed many people who lived in Bampton. This article is particularly about the 'tuckers' who were also known as 'fullers' or 'walkers' and their task was to remove the natural oil from the woven woollen fabric, shrink it down, fluff it out into soft thick material.
