Scope and content
These six photographs were taken inside the Grange and around the garden early in the twentieth century.
A thatched summer house.
Part of the back of the Grange with the large glass house just showing on the right.
A tiny portion of the garden with a lady wearing a floor-length skirt.
Inside the Grange. The room has a timbered ceiling going up with the roof and lovely beams showing. There is a small fire place but with a huge black and fancy surround. An enormous picture above the mantelshelf. Several mounted antlers and ancient cavalry swords and the like. A few chairs with loose covers, a bookcase and a small table without chairs to sit at it.
Young boy in the picture by the flower bed wearing cap, jacket and plus fours.
The garden with a path running between fairly high shrubbery making it a delightfully secluded spot. There is one staddle stone on the left and what looks like a flagstone pathway over a small water course.
