Scope and content

This Dutch marching band performed in Bampton for us in 2008. This was the Amigo Marching Band from Leiden. We also had a Stage Band from Leiden that played from a ‘Curtain sided’ trailer a few years previous at the Shirt Race. Bampton has enjoyed quite a few exchanges with Leiden since the Weightlifting Club first went in 1963. Three groups of Morris Dancers have performed in Parades in their city. There have been four performances of the now defunct Bampton Barn Dance Band and Dancers and one performance by the Woodpecker Band.
One Dutchman called Hans Ladan has been the Mister Fixit for all these events and will be at Josie’s Draw in the Romany again this year.
