Scope and content

There are different spellings of the family name of Sheppard but that was not unusual in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. There are census returns, a birth certificate, Short Service paper for WWI volunteer Albert David Sheppard and a note to his wife dated April 9th 1918 telling her he was in a hospital in Boulogne with a shrapnel wound to the right thigh.
