Scope and content

When our library was threatened with closure Bampton people rose up and protested. A big read-in was organised and a short talk outside the library by Kirsty Young, who lives in Bampton started the day; she was the first of many people, most quite famous, to read from either their favourite book or as in the case of Kirsty one of the favourite books of her children. Since this day a dedicated group of people have worked tirelessly to gather sufficient funds each year to keep our library open with professional librarians.
