Tony Scott told the Archive
I believe International Stores took over (from Eeles) in 1969 and altered and extended the premises, covered the cellars & converted the accommodation into a self contained flat.
It was then became Gateway until it closed in April 1987.
I bought the premises in June 1987, first trading with Spar, then Londis in 1992.
In 2005 I extended the premises still further to it’s current configuration and traded as “Scott’s Budgens” until I sold the business in November 2014 to Midcounties Coop.
Nancy Haynes nee Radband worked for Eeles, she put the orders together.
Don Rouse said "Winnie Brown would ride her bike around the Town collecting the orders for Eeles / International Stores. Then Bert Saunders would deliver them later on in the week."
