Scope and content

Matthew Smalldon from the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock came to talk with Jo Lewington and Terry Rouse about their memories of POWs and both recalled them having toys made by the POWs. Sadly Terry no longer has his but Jo still has the brightly painted carved parrots and stands that were made for her. Some of these pictures are pixilated because they frames taken out of the film of the interview which you can see at The Nissan hut is on the road going up the hill to Lew from the Bampton-Brize Norton Road and was built for the Home Guard to use and check all traffic going along the road. There is a photograph of Bampton's Home Guard marching past the Talbot, with one policeman at the front.
