Scope and content

This is John Taylor who owned the Market Square Garage. He is looking at the workings of the clock that was on top of the Town Hall until major refurbishment work was done on the Town Hall in 1972. For some reason, the clock was removed and John bought it and put it on the front of the car showroom so all could still see this historic clock, which was given by the people of Bampton to Philip Southby in 1908 in thanks for all he'd done and given to the people of Bampton
