BADBAD and img457 and img458 and img472 - Brigadier Goadby crowning the Carnival Queen Janette Keyte at the August Bank Holiday in 1964. Janette had been voted Carnival Queen at a dance in the WI Hall the year before. The year that Janette was Queen she sportingly laid in a bed that John Quick had devised for the Carnival Fête whereby you threw wooden Balls at a target and if you hit the Bulls eye the Queen was tipped out of bed in her night dress. Her attendants were Pamela Quick (on Janet's left, daughter of Bob Quick) and Christine Baird. Brigadier Goadby lived in the large mill near Sutton and he was Chairman of the Oxfordshire British Legion.
