Scope and content

Tom & Sylvia Papworth's papershop was owned by Tom's mother Emmie before them and they retained the name 'Emmies' because that's what everyone called the shop. Before Emmie had it, her brother George ran the shop. Tom and Sylvia tried hard to find a buyer for the business but in the end, they simply had to close in 2012 and turn it all into a private dwelling. People could then buy their papers from Budgens, now the Co-op and a mobile newspaper caravan is parked someone in the centre of Bampton each morning, usually opposite Duttons. We filmed Tom and Sylvia in their shop before they closed at a time when they were still hopeful of finding a buyer. https://youtu.be/wyC9Vf3jFS8 is the YouTube address to see the film.
