Scope and content

This is George Dafter who was one of our local postmen for nearly 30 years. He was loved by all who came into contact with him and he had a great sense of humour.

Jamie Wheeler said "My Dad always told a funny story about George. Some people may not know that he had a stutter, and one day he said to Dad "C C Cyril. How did S S Swindon get on today? Without meaning to Dad replied "I don't know George. I w w wasn't t t there!" Of course George saw the funny side. Lovely man.

Richard Taylor said "My Gramp Dafter would definitely have seen the funny side."

Jean Walsh said "He was always so happy! And always had sweets in his pockets for us kids when he was postman."
