These 14 postcards were collected and saved by Hilda Kent and all but one denote pre WWII scenes. There is one from 1943 showing Stanley Matthews playing football for the RAF. Other subjects are the Queen Mary, a rocket driven bicycle, a stylized postcard of a fine lady, Wimbledon, Hobbs & Sutcliffe going out to bat for Yorkshire, the slums of Bethnal Green in 1923, washing the kit of Tottenham Hotspurs, a trio at Royal Ascot, ladies in a biscuit factory in Liverpool, a recruiting march by the King's Royal Rifle Corps 1915, hop pickers, a large clock on the ground for men in the air, King Edwards VIII visiting the unemployed in Abertillery.
