Harry Pocock with his thrashing machine and tractor in 1958 driving out of Church Street into Broad Street. Edwin, Ruth and Joe Buckingham are on the tractor with him.

An invoice from Harry Pocock & Son, Agricultural and Thrashing Contractor to Alex Townsend of Ashtree Farm (in Weald Street) for threshing and baling @ £47 5s (£47.25p) but with a contra account of 2ctw of tater (potatoes), 2 men combing and 5 gallons of paraffin £8.11s.6d (£8.55½p) giving a bill of £38.13s.6d (£38.65½p) sent April 1959.

Lower Haddon Farm in the very north of the Bampton area was sold in March 1949. One of these maps was produced by Jackson-Stops of Cirencester the auctioneers and the other was a hand drawn one. They show the names of the fields and what was being grown in them at the time.

Bill Hudson (Frank Hudson Father)

Photograph of Bill Hudson with others on a course in 1947. He was Frank Hudson’s father. His wife, one of Dora Townsend’s sisters died when Frank was 7 weeks old and Frank was raised by his grandparents on Castle View farm so Bill could go out to work but Bill lived in Broad Street so saw Frank all the time. At one time Bill worked in Central Garage in the Market Square. In this picture he is seen with people from other outlets for Ferguson Tractors, at the Fifteenth product course on April 29th 1947 where he represented Bathford of Swindon.

Written on the back of the photo are the names of the others
