This newspaper cutting is about the Shirt Race and the Morris Dancing in Bampton at the late May Bank Holiday in 1983. Ian Baker 6 and Ivan Lomas 8 won the fancy dress aspect of the Junior Shirt Race.

The Bampton Traditional Morris Men, squire Francis Shergold, danced in Wadebridge on August Bank Holiday. Some of the people in the photographs include Reg Hall musician, Martin Ferguson, Ivy Poole, 'big' Eric Stott, Colin Bathe, Trig Morris Men, Rod Stradling, Francis Shergold, Jamie Wheeler, Jim Buckingham, Dave Rose, Ted Poole, Roy Shergold.

Newspaper Cutting reporting on the Annual Fete held in the Old School Playing Field (Sandfords Field) Bampton in 1973.
There was a knock out Competition, and displays by the Fire Brigade and the Morris Dancers. The Competition was won by the Jubilee Team who apparently had to wade through the muddy stream.

This picture must have been taken some time between 1926 and 1938 because that was the period when Bertie Clark, seen here on the fiddle, played in Bampton.

They are dancing at the East end of the Market Square.
