Scope and content

The first Shirt Race in Bampton was run to celebrate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and it's been run every year on the Saturday of the May Bank Holiday weekend ever since. In 2016 the Witney Gazette ran one of their articles on events from the past and this one is about a shirt race in 1975 when the winners were John Fox and Frank Piercy. In the picture you see Micky Smith in the pram and Richard Snooks pushing.
