Scope and content

The Horsa buildings were built in 1947 to provide extra classrooms to go with the National School in Church View. When the school moved to Bowling Green Close and the National School closed, the Horsa buildings were used by the Scouts and in later years by the Bush Club. When the Horsa buildings were demolished an extension was put on the back of the National School for the Bush Club and two semi-detached houses and a single house were built on the site where the Horsa classrooms had been. These photographs document the building of these houses.
