Scope and content
This picture was taken very near to 1900. The clock erected in 1908 is not yet on the roof.
Wheelgate House is still the academy run by Alfie Bryant and Eeles shop is visible.
The main feature is the Town Hall showing the north west and west aspect. The arches have been bricked up because there is no longer a market day and it stopped gangs collecting underneath. It will also have stopped a wind blowing underneath which will have added to the chill factor of the rooms on the first floor.
There are no defined footpaths and no sign of any cars.
The is no building attached to the west side of Eeles' shop.
