Scope and content

Cromwell House is in Cheapside between Exeter House and The Old Forge. Hilda Kent lived there along with Margaret Howse after WWII until their deaths. Hilda did some research on the house and her notes are included in the pdf. They both worked tirelessly to help raise funds for Macmillan Nurses amongst other things. Hilda was very artistic and the display in their front window was always a joy as was the weekly one she did in the Bush Club for the members. Margaret made sure the front garden was always colourful, such a joy for all who walked past. The photographs show Cromwell House, their fund raising and photographs of Margaret.
