Scope and content

Dwelling houses - The Cottage (now called Roseanne) and Thatched Cottage, semi detached, were for sale by auction in the Talbot Inn, Bampton on March 4th 1908. Thatched Cottage was almost certainly two dwellings at some previous point in time. Both had long gardens at the back of the house with outbuildings.

Miss Lucy Carter lived in The Cottage and Mr George Radband lived in Thatched Cottage for a yearly rent each of £14. There was a good supply of water on the premises.

Richard Gillett was the auctioneer.

It sold by order of the Trustees under the Will of the late Mr. George Oakey, and under conditions to be then and there produce.
