Sonner Townsend, the son of Albert Townsend who first owned The Elephant and Castle and later moved across the road to run Castle View Farm, was born in 1914 and danced in Bampton Morris from the age of 11. These notes and accounts as ever have been wonderfully researched and collated by Keith Chadler.
