Scope and content

Julian came to live in Bampton with his wife when he retired from his work in Westminster. He was quietly very active in Bampton; he framed pictures, more as a hobby than a means of income, he was a bee keeper and gave teaching days on bee keeping, and he was a Gilder, Gardener and fisherman. It was while fishing from a boat that he fell overboard, his full body waders filled with water and he was unable to surface and drowned.
