The George and Dragon while still a pub and Quebec Cottage when it wasn't hidden by trees. It's now almost impossible to see the cottage in the summer when the leaves are on the trees.

St Mary's choir boys on an outing to Southsea in 1947
In 1947 no girls were allowed in the choir at St Mary's which was quite normal in most churches at that time. In the summer of 1947 these 9 choirboys were taken on an outing to Southsea as a treat.

Oliver Onesipherous Collett made the Bampton Voiturette in 1901-1902
In September 2008 Graham Newman put together an interesting exhibition about Oliver Onesipherous Collett who was a shop keeper, watch maker and repairer but he also built a car in 2001-2 which he called the Bampton Voiturette.

£1m to be spent on Oxfordshire's locks in winter 2016/17

David Cameron expresses concern for Witney Community Hospital August 2015
In August 2015 David Cameron, Prime Minister, expressed concern regarding Witney Community Hospital when he learnt the 30 bed Wenrisc ward was to close in September. It is hoped the ward will be refurbished and then re-opened in March 2016.

The creation of a new John The Baptist statue to go on the base of the spire of St Mary's 1990
Dr Alan Gaydon was churchwarden at St Mary The Virgin for several years and during his tenure the gales of January 25th 1990 blew the stature of John The Baptist off the base of the spire.
