Newspaper report by Erin Lyons dated 5th May A further 366 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus, have died bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 21,750. Patients were aged between 29 and 99 years old, with 14 of the 366 patients (aged between 49 and 85 years old) having no known underlying health condition.

Of the 182,262 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK, 28,131 people have died in hospitals and in the community. This is an increase of 621 from yesterday. Giving an update on the latest testing figures in the daily coronavirus press conference, Local Government Secretary Robert Jenrick said 1,129,907 coronavirus tests have been carried out in the UK, including 105,937 on Friday.

Due to the pandemic, the Zoo has been forced to close, whilst the majority of staff at the zoo have been furloughed, aside from essential zookeepers. Article written by David Lynch, Local Democracy Reporter, dated 4th may 2020 about the increase in FLY tipping under the lockdown in Oxford, as tips have been closed to prevent non-essential journeys. When the coronavirus lockdown began on March 23, all waste and recycling centres across the UK were closed to the public, as dumping bulky rubbish was not considered an essential journey. In some areas, including parts of Oxfordshire, councils also stopped running special bulky waste collections because members of staff were off sick with the coronavirus.
