Dec 9th 1971. Smith Industries in Witney redundancy
Newspaper cutting from Dec 9th 1971. Smith Industries in Witney are needing to make men redundant and have agreed to pay 50% more redundancy pay than they are contractually obliged to pay. There is expected to be a reduction in the need for car heaters which will be made in the Cowley car plant. Many of the men who've taken voluntary redundancy have got jobs in the Cowley plant.
