'One Hour To Dusk' was a thriller performed before the interval and the light-hearted 'Poor Mr Shakespeare' afterwards, by the Bampton WI Drama Group produced by Hilda Pickard.
The Eulogy by Tony Page's son Martin, gives a full account of his life. For us in Bampton Tony was in at the beginning of the Bampton Community Archive and did all the printing for the charity up to his death.
The last year we had a Flower Garland competition before Covid 19 put a temporary stop to it. Local artists, husband and wife Ann Manly and Dennis Harrison held an exhibition of their beautiful watercolours in November 2002 under the title 'Drawn to Light'They have been exhibiting in the gallery for more than 15 years
For 40 years Don Rouse developed and ran a Barn Dance band which at one time ran hundreds of dances a year both in the UK and abroad, and all the while Don was running a dairy unit. This account is written by Don and apart from documenting the history of barn dancing for 40 years from 1974 it all co-incidentally wonderfully documents the changes in society that feel to have taken much of the fun out of life. It's a wonderful read for anyone interested in social history.
