On her 103rd Birthday, 26th Feb 2025, Joyce Anderson donated this small red book to the Bampton Community Archive. The book is entitled "Oxfordshire" written by F.G. Brabant, M.A. Illustrated by Edmund H. New. First published May 1906. This is the third edition – published 1919. These pdfs are excerpts about Bampton in the book, and the book itself is available in our locked cupboard at the Archive should anyone want to view for reference.

Email dated 4th May 2020, From Rev. Canon Janice Collier, vicar of Bampton, Clanfield, Aston, Lew and Shifford to her parishioners . During the pandemic, the parishioners gathered each Sunday at 10.30am to worship on Zoom, and she informed them that mischief makers had high-jacked the events.

Copy of a Souvenir pull-out of roof restoration 2009-10 in The Beam 4 The total cost of the repairs to the Nave and Chancel Roofs was £410,000. In addition to the large number of donations from local people and those further afield, we received some £115,000 from a wide variety of events arranged by the Fund Committee members. These proved to be highly enjoyable for our community and included: A Raise The Roof Auction of Promises, a Clay Pigeon Shoot, a number of Concerts held in the Church, a talk by a famous local politician, an ‘Antiques Road Show’ held on a glorious summer’s afternoon and a Barn Dance held in Church. Donations from organisations within Bampton included: The Friends of Bampton Church Bampton Parish Council Bampton Community Shop Society for The Protection of Bampton The Junior Church We also received over £230,000 from external sources including: English Heritage The Church Commissioners Oxford Historic Churches Trust The National Churches Trust The Mercers Company Garfield Weston Trust The Pye Trust The Council for The Care of Churches We are most grateful to all our many Donors, without whose support the Roof could not have been repaired
Funeral service for Les Harrison held in St Mary's Church on 23rd May 2023 Les Harrison he was married to Winifred who died 5.12.2017. They had two children, Winifred and Nigel. Les’s father Jack Harrison , as the butcher located at what is now Pear Tree Cottage in the High Street. A real old fashioned butchers’ shop with whole carcasses hanging from hooks in the ceiling. He later moved to the small shop (now Bampton Coffee House) attached to The Stores in the Market Square. Les also had a sister called Ruth.
Funeral service of David Geoffrey Hawkins, held in St. Mary's Church Bampton. As David was in the RAF a tribute in the form of a flypast of the A400M was given and this can be seen at https://youtu.be/v26BlMQHg2E
