Freda Daniels was not quite 3 years old when she was dressed up to sell poppies in 1929. She was born April 13th 1927. The photograph of her sitting has '3 years old' written on the back.
When she married she became Mrs Freda Bradley.

Cycle ride to raise the need for a cycle pathway Bampton-Tadpole Bridge
In 1999 there was a mass cycle ride organised to highlight the need for a cycle pathway from Bampton to The Trout Inn at Tadpole bridge on the Buckland Road. The bridge crosses the River Thames.

Second Downton Abbey film to be made
A second Downton Abbey film is being made and once again Saint Mary's church, Churchgate House, the Old Grammar School and the area around the church in Bampton will be used for some of the location shooting.

Shadrack 'Shepherd' Hayden 1829-1916
Shadrack Hayden, known as Shadrack 'Shepherd' Hayden was a wonderful singer of folk music at a time when there were still many people who could not read and write and social history was past on very much in folks songs. His life was one of a shepherd and family man and makes for very interesting reading. In the photograph he is seen with one of his grandchildren.
