Bruce Piercy lived in Weald Street at Sunnyside; Bampton born, a building manager in 1986. Had a Saturday job with Adrian Simmonds when he was younger.

Arnold Woodley, Bampton born lived in Queen Street. He was squire of the Traditional Bampton Morris Men, chairman of the parish council, chairman of the Bampton Horticultural Society, a member of a barn dance band and of the Pumpkin Club.

George Dafter. George was a postman in Bampton for 28 years which earned him the Imperial Service Medal; he retired in February 1968. He spent 6 years with 6 M.U. at RAF Brize Norton before the PO.

Mrs Irene Sharp, lived next to College farmhouse in Bridge Street. She was a church worker and invaluable helper at the Bush Club day centre and seen here with Mrs Ada Tanner.

Robin Shuckburgh, Chairman of the Bampton Community Archive 2013
Robin Shuckburgh has been chairman of Bampton Community Archive for about 8 years (as at 2017) and over-seen the raising of £250,000 to repair the roof of the Old Grammar School in Church View and make the upstairs a usable space again. We are extremely fortunate in Bampton to have people with skills and energy which they are prepared to give freely for the benefit of the whole community.
