RAF Airbus - 100% sustainably-fuelled
Newspaper article about breakthrough moment when a A330 Voyager Aircraft flew using 100% sustainable fuel. The flight was led by Airbus defence and space project engineer Jesus Ruiz and chief test pilot for Rolls-Royce Andy Roberts It was a joint endeavour between the RAF, MOD, Airbus, AirTanker and Rolls Royce with the fuel from AirBP. It is hoped RAF will reach its net-zero target by 2040

Avro York failed take off from Brize Norton 1946
On 28 November 1946 an Avro York MW168 belonging to the Transport Command Development Unit at RAF Brize Norton failed to become airborne and instead crashed on to the railway line between Brize Norton and Carterton stations, coming to rest in a field, as pictured. Needless to say the line was closed for several days while the RAF effected recovery.
