Sub officer Arthur Beckley receives BEM at the County Fire HQ in Kidlington
Sub Officer Arthur H Beckley joined the NFS as a fireman at Bampton in 1946 and was officer in charge from 1960. I think this cutting is from a local paper approximately 1973. Arthur was awarded the BEM for his outstanding service

Robin Shuckburgh, Chairman of the Bampton Community Archive 2013
Robin Shuckburgh has been chairman of Bampton Community Archive for about 8 years (as at 2017) and over-seen the raising of £250,000 to repair the roof of the Old Grammar School in Church View and make the upstairs a usable space again. We are extremely fortunate in Bampton to have people with skills and energy which they are prepared to give freely for the benefit of the whole community.

The 46th Donkey Derby took place in 2015. The afternoon's fun is organised by the SPAJERS (Society for The Preservation of Ancient Junketing) to raise funds to treat Bampton's senior citizens and at the same time provide fun for everyone

£1m to be spent on Oxfordshire's locks in winter 2016/17
The Environment Agency will spend £1.2m repairing the locks on the Thames, five in Oxfordshire plus one in Berkshire, one in Buckinghamshire and one in Surrey through the winter of 2016-2017

The Shirt Race run on May 28th 2016 was very well attended by both competitors and the crowd. The amount of effort the competitors went to was remarkable and the races for the youngsters and the adults was started led by The Stig.

Oliver Onesipherous Collett made the Bampton Voiturette in 1901-1902
In September 2008 Graham Newman put together an interesting exhibition about Oliver Onesipherous Collett who was a shop keeper, watch maker and repairer but he also built a car in 2001-2 which he called the Bampton Voiturette.

Molly Rose awarded a badge by Gordon Brown 2008 for her work in the ATA
Molly Rose flew 38 different types of aircraft during WWII including the Spitfire as part of her work when in the Air Transport Auxiliary.

Lee Mackie appeals for more foster parents June 1st 2016
Lee Mackie lost her son Jason who was in the Royal Marines while he was serving in Afghanistan. Not surprisingly, Lee has struggled with life since then but in the last three years she has fostered 3 babies
