proceeds among her four daughters.
• Joseph Tomlin and William Routley, acting on Elizabeth Bartlett's will, arranged a sale by
auction.
• David Plaster Junior became the highest bidder at the auction, agreeing to purchase the
properties for £350.
• Of this amount, £100 was paid to George Frederick Holloway and Charles William
Holloway (presumably to settle the mortgage), and the remaining £250 was paid to
Joseph Tomlin and William Routley.
Thus, the transaction involves the sale of Elizabeth Bartlett's properties, handled by Joseph

Shirley Boyce was an Evacuee to Bampton during World War II and has written an account of her time in Bampton staying at a Manor House (Weald Manor?). Which had been divided into flats. She later stayed in Aston. The photo is of evacuated children from Bow, London playing in the grounds of Weald Manor in 1940. Two boys Kenny Howe and Leslie Tucker were billeted in New Road with Mr and Mrs Whighting?

When Lloyd Hughes Owens created a series of albums in the late 1970s and early 1980s there were people alive who could remember seeing Fred Able in Bampton with his little cart, two donkeys and his dog.
