Horse Fair seen outside the Wheat Sheaf Inn in Bridge Street
This is a photograph of the Horse Fair taken outside the Wheat Sheaf Inn in Bridge Street. pre-WW I Boys are collecting horse manure for vegetable gardens. The Wheat Sheaf became the Post Office about 1971 and became a private house in 2010 when the post office moved to the Town Hall and it became a private house.

the mother of Nan, Jim, Connie, Teddy, Bob, Nellie and Brit. Her name was Sarah Loveridge, and Richard (Dick) Brooks was her son. (We think!) Her son Teddy was knocked down by a motorcycle on the bridges in Bridge Street when he was 5 and died in hospital.
