The 46th Donkey Derby took place in 2015. The afternoon's fun is organised by the SPAJERS (Society for The Preservation of Ancient Junketing) to raise funds to treat Bampton's senior citizens and at the same time provide fun for everyone
In August 2015 David Cameron, Prime Minister, expressed concern regarding Witney Community Hospital when he learnt the 30 bed Wenrisc ward was to close in September. It is hoped the ward will be refurbished and then re-opened in March 2016.
The Shirt Race run on May 28th 2016 was very well attended by both competitors and the crowd. The amount of effort the competitors went to was remarkable and the races for the youngsters and the adults was started led by The Stig.
Dr Alan Gaydon was churchwarden at St Mary The Virgin for several years and during his tenure the gales of January 25th 1990 blew the stature of John The Baptist off the base of the spire.
The Fairford, Faringdon, Filkins and Burford Ploughing Match Society held their annual ploughing match at Kelmscott on September 26th 2015. These photographs show some of what was to be seen at the show.
In October 2016 a Triptych made by the Summertown United Reformed Church was lent to St Mary's. It illustrates all the books of the bible. There was no cost for this, just a request for photographs of people looking at the Triptych.
A large section of wall in Church Close fell and badly damaged at least two vehicles. The wall was eventually repaired and a new opening created where a gateway was made.
In 1983 Terry Crowley began taking photographs of people in Bampton who worked here, or were born here, or worked for charities here or any combination.
