In 1983 the Lowlands Area Planning Sub committee gave permission for 70 more homes to be built between New Road and Coalpit Lane. The said no more than 20 per year on the 8 acre site but in the event, there were more than this annually.

A carnival and fête, organised by the British Legion, held in the grounds of The Grange by kind invitation of Major and Mrs W.W.B. Scott. The event started at the Town Hall with the crowning of Carnival Queen, 16 year old Pamela Quick. Her attendants were Christine Neagle and Carole Edwards and a young Mathew Green was crown bearer. A Century In Pictures - 2002

A very different type of exhibition in the Gallery in Bampton in January 2002 saw 100 boxes, each containing 100 pictures and a distinctive word or phrase from the year for people to brows through.

A group of printmakers came together to put on a really lovely display of their work in September 2006. Artists included

Gill Salway - thick card to impress or emboss her plates
Toni Clarke - water with sugar etchings
Esther Hepworth - 100 years of family photographs from a precious family shoebox

Bampton has had a long history of playing cricket and Anna Pitt put on a wonderful, well researched exhibition on the subject in January/February 2019.
