Ralph Norman, seen on the left, organised the exhibition, 'Expanding The Girths' as part of the first ever international ply-split braiding convention. Also in the picture are Linda Hendrickson and Peter Collingwood.
Oxfordshire Touring Theatre Company with 'Beauty and The Beast' played in very many villages in Oxfordshire. It was written by Mike Kenny and directed by Lawrence Evans. Olivia Wright and Sean Hammond were two of the cast members.
Oxford Scribes, a society of calligraphers collaborated with the Oxford Guild of Printers to put on an exhibition of contemporary manuscripts, printed alphabet books and type specimen posters in the Gallery.

In September 2008 Graham Newman put together an interesting exhibition about Oliver Onesipherous Collett who was a shop keeper, watch maker and repairer but he also built a car in 2001-2 which he called the Bampton Voiturette.
Olive McCage was born and grew up in Bampton; she was a typist at Brize Norton air base where she met a young American, married him and she emigrated to the USA when his tour of duty here was over.
This article was written for the September 19th issue of the Witney Gazette. It reports that the O2 telecommunications mast near Bampton has been faulty since it was first reported on August 2nd 2018. There is huge frustration with it being faulty for well over a month and the lack of communication from O2. Much fore information in the article.
John Chipperfield usually has a page in the Witney Gazette where he recalls events in times past. This item recalls the time in 1978 when Susan Morris, pictured at the organ in Clanfield Church played for 10 hours taking turns with John White and John Goodrun. It was to accompany the Flower Festival in the church. Susan is still playing at Clanfield (2019)
In 1978 the vicar looked after both Bampton and Clanfield churches. By 1970, the vicar of the time lived in the vicarage in Bampton and was responsible for the churches not only of Clanfield and Bampton but Lew, Aston and Shifford as well.
