Second short film by Roy Barratt showing Morris Dancers and flower garlands at Whitsun 1962 and 1963. Some participates in Shirt race can be named as Mikey Smith, Frank Hudson, Frank Purslow, Albert Radband and in the Flower Garlands some of the children can be named as Teresa Lock, Wendy Radband, Elaine Howell, Sylvia Barber, Philip Curtis, The cover photo shows the children's shirtrace starting from the Swan Pub in Buckland Road.

Pumpkin Club 1973 Tramps' Supper
Newspaper cutting reporting on Tramps' Supper put on by Pumpkin Club to raise funds for the elderly residents on Bampton. Held in the Cotswold Grill and the Food donated by Dave Passmore the proprietor. Prizes were given to the best dressed Tramps. The Weekend activities included Judging of Whitsun Garlands made by Children, prizes went to Andrew and Mark Whitlock, George and Amanda Gascoigne and Floyd and Christine Curtis. Morris Dancing and an Art Exhibition were also held.

Son Townsend 50 years a Morris fool; children with garlands
In 1974 Son Townsend clocked up 50 years as a Morris Dancer and later Fool in Bampton. He first danced out with the side in 1925. To mark the occasion a clock and silver salver were given to Son.
The young dancers left to right behind Son are (I think?) Clive Tanner, Fred Cook, Mat Green and Malcolm Willis.

Bampton Horticultural Society Autumn Show
The Bampton Horticultural Society has two shows a year and this is their autumn one. In the picture, Betty Collett the club secretary is seen holding a huge marrow with club chairman, John Snook. The John Taylor cup for the most overall points went to Mr Keith Bishop.

Bampton Horticultural Society Summer Show
After a very hot and dry summer the Bampton Horticultural Society held an excellent summer show although there were fewer entries in some of the flower and vegetable classes.
The Lady Anne Montagu Cup for overall points was won by Mr J Horne.
The cutting lists all the winners in all the classes.

Allotments by Cheyne Lane near the brook, C2000
This plot of land is by Cheyne Lane on left just before reaching the brook having gone down from by the butcher's shop. It was worked as allotments for a few yeas but then that all stopped.

In alternate years the Bampton Community Archive organises a open garden day called Bampton's Hidden Gardens. Toby Hopkins dressed as a scarecrow as part of the fun.
