Freda Daniels was not quite 3 years old when she was dressed up to sell poppies in 1929. She was born April 13th 1927. The photograph of her sitting has '3 years old' written on the back. When she married she became Mrs Freda Bradley.

At a meeting in 1934 there was considerable discord and some not very pleasant behaviour between councillors all to do with getting fresh water to Bampton.
This is the program for a play put on by the Bampton Dramatic Society March 10th, 11th and 12th 1937. The play was called 'Barnet's Folly' by Jan Stewer. It was put on in the W. I. Hall (which is now called the Village Hall.)
Shirley Boyce was an Evacuee to Bampton during World War II and has written an account of her time in Bampton staying at a Manor House (Weald Manor?). Which had been divided into flats. She later stayed in Aston. The photo is of evacuated children from Bow, London playing in the grounds of Weald Manor in 1940. Two boys Kenny Howe and Leslie Tucker were billeted in New Road with Mr and Mrs Whighting?
