St Mary's Church Bampton Appeal for repair and augmentation of the Organ
Newspaper article and Leaflet asking for donations to help with the restoration of the Church Organ which was originally made by William Gray in 1812 at a cost of £460 guineas. Estimated cost for the project was £175,000 which would comprise of £75,000 grant and £100,000 from donations. Work was eventually carried out by Cousins Organs in Coalville North-west Leicestershire, after the company Peter Collins Ltd of Melton Mowbray went into administration. St Mary's choir sing Sung Evensong at Lichfield Cathedral April 18th 2015
On April 18th 2015 the choir of St Mary's went to Lichfield to sing Sung Evensong. It was a lovely sunny day which made the journey a delight and several family members and friends came on the coach to enjoy the day.

On Saturday April 18th 2015 the choir from St Mary The Virgin, Bampton went to Lichfield Cathedral to sing Sung Evensong. Choir master and conductor David New, organist on the day for the choir was John Ridgway.

St Mary's choir boys on an outing to Southsea in 1947
In 1947 no girls were allowed in the choir at St Mary's which was quite normal in most churches at that time. In the summer of 1947 these 9 choirboys were taken on an outing to Southsea as a treat.

St Mary The Virgin seen from Sandford Field
St Mary The Virgin Steeple can be seen very clearly from Sandford Field. There are more cottages between the field and the church than exist today. The one on the left is Sandford and has been much enlarged since this picture was taken.
