6 artists came together to show a mix of styles, techniques and media to show the range of the standard and work being produced by the members of West Ox Arts.
Under the guidance of Hilda Pickard, the Drama Group in Bampton put on many excellent plays and pantomimes in the WI Hall, now called the Village Hall. This entry recalls just of few of them.MirandaOn The Road
In 2013, Margaret Landray who was a founder member of West Oxfordshire Arts Association, WOAA, which later became known as West Ox Arts, wrote her memoir of the Arts Association and this is her hand-written account.
In November 1996 West Oxfordshire Arts held a workshop for children on the theme of Guy Fawkes called Sparklers, Rockets and Bangers.The centre's administrator Sally Proctor led the workshop along with Martin Bishop, Margaret Bishop and Clair Hughes-Jones.
This exhibition in the West Ox Arts Gallery, in the upstairs of the Town Hall ran from March 11th to April 1st 2012 and was titled 'Capturing The Moment.'In 1973 John Birkhead set up WOA and Ann became its first secretary.
In October and November 1988 Ann Manly and her husband Dennis Harrison exhibited 90 of their recent paintings, half done on location in a very cold Venice.
Ann Manly and Dennis Harrison produced hundreds of beautiful watercolour paintings and they had no difficulty in selling them. They were always priced very reasonably and the pictures were always a delight and much sort after.
