Bampton has had a long history of playing cricket and Anna Pitt put on a wonderful, well researched exhibition on the subject in January/February 2019. Newspaper article: A team from RAF Brize Norton called Horus 7 played Rugby for more than 24 hours in a bid to set a world record and raise money for charity. They took on the charity Scotty's Little Soldiers at Witney Rugby Club.
Bampton's Primary School nursery class made use of the World Football Cup, held in Russia, to aid their learning. They learned where the countries who took part were on a map, they had food tasting specific to some of the countries
Jason Seacole of Henry Box School in Witney was integral in England School Boys winning all their matches in the season. England beat West Germany in the final of the eight nations schoolboys' international in Dortmund in May winning 4-2. Earlier in the tournament they beat France 6-1 and Jason scored a hat trick in the match.
