This is a class photograph taken about 1930. Vera Elward was then Vera Tanner and she is the blond girl centre front. The remaining 27 pictures are of each child with their name underneath
Flooding hit Bampton again May 16th 1932. The picture shows some people being given a piggy-back through the floods and two people being pulled in a pram.
Harry Pocock lived at No2 Broad Street and was the person who went around the farms in Bampton and out as far as a farm in Thrupp by Oxford to thrash the corn on farms before the days of the combine harvester.
This is the program for a play put on by the Bampton Dramatic Society March 10th, 11th and 12th 1937. The play was called 'Barnet's Folly' by Jan Stewer. It was put on in the W. I. Hall (which is now called the Village Hall.)
This picture must have been taken some time between 1926 and 1938 because that was the period when Bertie Clark, seen here on the fiddle, played in Bampton.
They are dancing at the East end of the Market Square.
Charles Cuthbert Menzies lived at The Grange in High Street and April 18th 1939 he applied to join the Witney Aero Club. His occupation was a Publisher.
