A Millennium Mosaic was unveiled in Bampton by the Town Hall by Tony Walker of WODC. The mosaic was created by Rosalind Wates and sculptor Alec Peever made a plaque to commemorate the occasion. Residents took part in the creation through a workshop lasting three years. It was funded by the regional arts lottery board, the district council and Bampton Parish Council, West Ox Arts and Oxfordshire County Council. The mosaic capture some of the main elements of Bampton, the Morris dancing, the church and a tree.
