As part of the exhibition on A History of Trade in Bampton, Mavis Newing kindly supplied this historical account of Sherbourne houses, 1 and 2 in Bridge Street

Wedding Day for Natasha Papworth, seen here with her parents Tom and Sylvia Papworth. They are standing in the doorway of their home, Emmies, the papershop which sadly closed for the last time in 2012.

Tea at Lavender Place Flats 1997. Left to right:- Daisy Gill, Laura Turnham, Joan(or real name Beryl) Smith and one other lady.Sadly, the flats are to be pulled down and all the residents have been told to find somewhere else to live.

Bernard Dafter used to live at Home Farm in the High Street. The farm buildings were behind the house and he rented land north of New Road when there were not houses north of the road.

Dutton the grocery shop also contained a bank and when the bank became Midland Bank and moved to a property next-door-but one, George moved out of the shop to run the bank full time and sold the grocery business to Bill Mathews.

Derek Dixey was one of four brothers and one sister and in this picture he is seen in military uniform at home on leave in Bampton in the 1950s
