Witney Gazette September 20th 2014. The developer behind a 160-home estate in the village has agreed to fund an extension at Bampton Primary School. Richborough Estates, which was granted planning permission by West Oxfordshire District Council in March, will also invest in
bus stops, the village library and public art projects
as part of its developer contributions for the scheme. More than 330 residents signed a petition opposing the development, which will include a combination of one to five-bedroom houses, saying it was over-development and could lead to further flooding.
This photograph, taken in 1922 according to the date on the bottom right corner, is of a class at Bampton National School in Church View. It is sad that we don't know the names of any of the children in the picture.

This teacher is Mr Evans who taught at Bampton School and the picture was taken about 1959.Janet Westman said "Mr Evans was my favourite teacher. He was so young and handsome!, he encouraged me to draw, and would take us on cycle rides
These three cuttings are all about a trip from Bampton school to Paris with 39 children. John Coombes (incorrect spelling under the photo in the cutting) was one of the school staff who went with the children.
In 1989 Mr Geoffrey Fowler, then the County Councillor for Bampton Division of Oxford, began the process of trying to get the National School in Church View listed as a "building of architectural and historic interest.
Bampton C of E did put on a classical Nativity play in December 2016. Some of the children taking part include Isla Cooley, Seth Hall, Amelia Day, Jack Launder, Sophia Causer, Chloe Ryan, James Bruce, Logan Buckingham, Amelia Foster and Callum Gilbert.
Bampton's Primary School nursery class made use of the World Football Cup, held in Russia, to aid their learning. They learned where the countries who took part were on a map, they had food tasting specific to some of the countries
